Launch of the FIRE-ADAPT monthly webinars

FIRE-ADAPT kicked off its monthly webinar series on 25 February 2026, aimed at disseminating the project’s research and results while encouraging discussion and knowledge exchange. The first sessions will highlight the work of Early Career Researchers (ECRs) within the consortium.

The inaugural session featured Natasha Hill, ECR at the University of East Anglia, presenting “What do we know about rainforest fires and human well-being? A review for the Brazilian Amazon.” Her review of Brazilian Amazon fire research found it to be heavily dominated by natural sciences and focused largely on smoke-related health impacts, while social, relational and lived dimensions of well-being — especially for Indigenous and local communities — remain underrepresented. The webinar explored these gaps and their implications for more equitable and effective fire governance. Watch the recording below:

The series continues on the last Wednesday of each month, from 17:00 to 18:00 CET, via Zoom. Details on how to join upcoming sessions will be announced on the project’s social media.
