Argentina
This study hub focused on the Parana River Delta, which is the second-largest basin of South America after the Amazon in Brazil. The region harbours mosaics of fire-sensitive and fire-prone vegetation, and for several decades has had human-induced wildfires. In 2020 only, almost 15% of the territory burned. There is currently a lack of IFM practices and limited capacity to control and extinguish wildfires, directly impacting local communities. This study hub sought knowledge transfer activities through hosting practitioners, stakeholders and scientists, WP workshops, data collection on carbon dynamics (WP1) and biodiversity (WP2), and activities related to intercultural practices and well-being (WP3).
