FIRE-ADAPT continues to promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences on wildfires and their management through its monthly webinar series. The recording of the August session is now available, featuring Adriana Millán, a researcher at CONICET and UNRaf (Argentina).
In her presentation, “How has the meaning of ‘fire’ changed in Argentine legislation?”, Adriana analyzed the evolution of wildfire regulations in Argentina from the colonial period to the present. Her research identifies five periods in the development of these regulations, highlighting the ruptures and continuities in the understanding of fire as a social, environmental, and territorial problem.
